CIDG Nets Firearm in Naga City Buy-Bust Operation
Naga City, Camarines Sur – A coordinated buy-bust operation conducted on Magtuto Street, Barangay Concepcion Pequeña, resulted in the apprehension of a suspect and the recovery of an illegal firearm.
 
The operation, executed at approximately 8:30 PM on October 28, 2025, was spearheaded by the CIDG Camarines Sur Provincial Field Unit (PFU) as part of "OPLAN PAGLALANSAG OMEGA," a CIDG flagship project aimed at recovering loose firearms. The CIDG team was supported by the 95th Special Action Company of the 9th Special Action Battalion, Cam Sur MARPSTA, Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) Naga City, and Naga City Police Office (NCPO) Station 2.
 
The apprehended individual was identified as ANGELITO TAPAR y VERDADERO, 29 years old, unemployed, and a resident of Zone Barangay Dalipay, Milaor, Camarines Sur.
 
Authorities confiscated the following items from the suspect: a .45 caliber pistol (ARMSCOR trademark, no serial number), a steel magazine for a .45 caliber firearm, one genuine ₱1,000 bill wrapped with 14 pieces of boodle money, two rounds of .45 caliber ammunition, and one black sling bag.
 
The inventory and marking of the seized items were conducted at the scene in the presence of two Barangay officials from Barangay Concepcion Pequeña. The confiscated evidence is currently under the custody of the seizing officer and will be submitted to the Camarines Sur Provincial Forensic Unit for ballistic examination. Documentation is being prepared for the filing of charges with the Prosecutor's Office.
