Congressman Carlos Loria Appointed to Bicol University's Board of Regents

Legazpi City, Albay – Hon. Carlos A. Loria, the Representative of the 2nd District of Albay, has been formally appointed to the Board of Regents of Bicol University (BU). The appointment was endorsed by House Speaker Faustino "Bojie" G. Dy III, as stated in a letter dated October 20, 2025, to Hon. Michelle Aguilar Ong, Commissioner of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and Chairperson of the BU Board of Regents.
 
Speaker Dy's endorsement highlights Hon. Loria's role in advocating for national development priorities, including local economic enterprise, digital innovation, human capital development, and education. The Speaker emphasized that Hon. Loria’s inclusion aligns with Bicol University's mission to foster academic excellence, leadership, and character among its students, supporting the institution's vision to produce top-tier graduates and strengthen academic governance.
 
The Commission on Higher Education officially received the endorsement on October 22, 2025. Hon. Loria’s appointment is expected to bring valuable insights and contributions to Bicol University, further enhancing its programs, research, and innovation initiatives.
