Mayor Perete Shifts Focus to Social Services, Reconsiders Municipal Hall Relocation
Daraga, Albay – Following his "Ulat sa Bayan" celebrating his first 100 days in office, Mayor Victor Perete outlined his administration's future direction in a post-report interview, emphasizing a shift towards prioritizing social services and a reconsideration of the municipal hall's relocation.
Mayor Perete began by expressing his gratitude to all those involved in the success of the "Ulat sa Bayan" event. He specifically thanked the Sangguniang Bayan of Daraga, led by Vice Mayor Love Ruiz, for their unwavering support of his administration.
While acknowledging the importance of infrastructure development, Mayor Perete stated that his administration will now focus on strengthening social services across all sectors of society. "We have laid down the foundation," he said. "Now, our priority is to ensure that our social services reach every DaragueƱo, regardless of their background." This shift reflects a commitment to addressing the immediate needs of the community and improving the quality of life for all residents.
During the interview, Mayor Perete addressed the long-discussed topic of relocating the Municipal Hall. He clarified that while the initial plan was to transfer it to De la Paz, the LGU is now exploring alternative locations closer to downtown Daraga. "We want to make the Municipal Hall more accessible to our people," he explained. "By locating it near the downtown area, we can ensure that it is convenient for residents to access government services." This decision reflects a commitment to bringing the government closer to the people and fostering a more citizen-centric approach to governance.
