Over 36,500 Individuals Evacuated in Albay Due to Tropical Storm "Ramil"
LEGAZPI CITY, October 18, 2025 – In response to the approaching Tropical Storm "Ramil," Albay province has conducted a partial evacuation, with a total of 11,725 families or 36,531 individuals seeking shelter as of 5:00 PM today.
 
The evacuation efforts spanned various Local Government Units (LGUs) within Albay, with Polangui reporting the highest number of evacuees, sheltering 5,820 families (15,456 individuals). Malilipot also saw a significant number of residents moving to safety, with 2,422 families (8,158 individuals) in evacuation centers. Guinobatan reported 2,184 families (8,442 individuals) evacuated.
 
Other LGUs with notable evacuation numbers include:
 
- Tiwi: 145 families (523 individuals)
- Tabaco City: 46 families (159 individuals)
- Bacacay: 64 families (260 individuals)
- Sto. Domingo: 178 families (535 individuals)
- Legazpi City: 83 families (298 individuals)
- Rapu-Rapu: 132 families (441 individuals)
- Daraga: 49 families (130 individuals)
- Camalig: 280 families (942 individuals)
- Jovellar: 5 families (17 individuals)
- Ligao City: 212 families (733 individuals)
- Pio Duran: 51 families (173 individuals)
- Libon: 54 families (264 individuals)
 
The municipalities of Malinao, Manito, and Oas also conducted evacuations, though specific numbers were not immediately available.
 
The Albay Provincial Information Office, sourcing data from APSEMO, continues to monitor the situation and coordinate with local disaster response teams to ensure the safety and well-being of all affected residents. Residents are advised to stay informed through official channels and adhere to safety guidelines issued by local authorities as Tropical Storm "Ramil" progresses.
