Santo Domingo Mayor Vows Transparency, Improved Services After First 100 Days
Santo Domingo, Albay – In a recent interview with Bicol Net TV, Mayor Bong Banda of Santo Domingo, Albay, discussed his accomplishments during his first 100 days in office and outlined his plans for the future.
Key Initiatives and Future Plans
Mayor Banda emphasized his commitment to continuing ongoing programs, maintaining cleanliness throughout Santo Domingo, and ensuring that all projects are completed according to plan. A major focus will be improving the town's water system to provide better service to residents.
"We will enhance our water system to ensure everyone benefits," Mayor Banda stated. "Transparency is a priority. Santo Domingo will be open about all programs aimed at improving our town."
Citizen Feedback and Accountability
To enhance accountability, Mayor Banda announced the upcoming launch of a mobile application that will allow residents to report issues directly to the local government. "Next week, we will launch an app where people can report corruption or any problems that need immediate attention," he explained.
Slaughterhouse Project
Addressing concerns about the status of the local slaughterhouse, Mayor Banda assured that he has been in contact with the contractor to ensure its completion according to the original plan. He noted that almost 96% of the payment has been made.
"I have urged the contractor to finish the slaughterhouse project as planned," Mayor Banda affirmed. "If they fail to complete it, we will file a case and terminate the contract to return the project to the LGU."

Mayor Banda reiterated his dedication to serving the people of Santo Domingo, emphasizing that his promises are not just to the community but also to God. "I promise to fulfill my duties. We only live once, so let's do good," he said.
Budget Allocation
When asked about savings from job orders, Mayor Banda clarified that the funds would be redirected to essential programs, particularly the water system and overall maintenance for the betterment of Santo Domingo. "The savings from job orders will go to our programs, especially the water system, to maintain a progressive Santo Domingo," he confirmed.
