STEEL "SMUGGLING" DEBUNKED: BRIDGE MATERIALS EXPLAINED!

Daraga, Albay - Recent observations of steel being transported from the construction site of the bridge in Binitayan Daraga to the Bogtong bridge construction site in Legazpi City led to speculation that there might be a change in the project's material sourcing. However, sources clarified that the transport was part of a pre-planned logistical process designed to navigate existing truck ban regulations.

Initially, the movement of steel raised questions, with some residents wondering if there were issues with the original delivery plans for the Bogtong bridge.

According to a source familiar with the project, all the steel materials were initially delivered to a designated staging area in Binitayan, Daraga, due to a standing truck ban in Legazpi City that restricts the movement of heavy vehicles during certain hours.

"To comply with the truck ban regulations, the decision was made to have all deliveries initially routed to Binitayan," the source explained. "From there, smaller trucks are being used to transport the steel to the Bogtong bridge construction site in Legazpi."

This two-step delivery process ensures that the construction materials reach their final destination while adhering to local traffic regulations. The source emphasized that this logistical strategy is a temporary measure and does not indicate any issues with the steel supply or the overall bridge construction project.

The Bogtong bridge is a crucial infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity and easing traffic flow between Legazpi City and neighboring areas. The project remains on schedule, and the construction team is working diligently to complete the bridge as planned.
