Taal Volcano Erupts, Alert Level 1 Raised

Batangas, Philippines – Taal Volcano experienced a phreatic eruption at approximately 11:42 AM today, October 13, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
 
The minor eruption prompted PHIVOLCS to maintain Alert Level 1 for the volcano. This means that while a hazardous eruption is not imminent, the public is advised to remain vigilant and prepared.
 
PHIVOLCS continues to monitor the volcano closely for any further activity. Residents in nearby areas are urged to stay informed and follow the advisories issued by local authorities.
