Albay Gov. Rosal Moves to Fortify LGUs with Rice Ahead of Typhoon Uwan

LEGAZPI CITY, ALBAY – In a proactive move to mitigate the potential impact of Typhoon Uwan, Albay Governor Noel Ebriega Rosal has directed the immediate distribution of rice to all 18 local government units (LGUs) in the province.

Each LGU is set to receive 100 sacks of rice, sourced from the National Food Authority warehouse in Cormidal, Tabaco City, to bolster their relief efforts.

This decision was made following a pre-disaster risk assessment meeting held by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, where priority needs of potentially affected areas were identified. The prepositioning of rice is a strategic effort to ensure that families have access to essential supplies as Typhoon Uwan approaches.

Governor Rosal has tasked the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office with overseeing the distribution, which is scheduled to commence today. This initiative underscores the province's commitment to supporting its LGUs in providing timely and effective assistance to their constituents during times of crisis.
