Albay Park and Wildlife Grapples with Missing Animals Following Typhoon Uwan
Albay, Philippines – The Albay Park and Wildlife is currently facing a challenging situation in the aftermath of Typhoon #UwanPH, which struck the region on November 12. According to a partial report released by Park Manager Dr. Franz Colambo, an estimated 18 to 32 animals are unaccounted for.
The report indicates that the animals went missing during the height of the typhoon, likely due to damaged enclosures or the animals being displaced by the storm's strong winds and heavy rainfall. Dr. Colambo's office is working diligently to ascertain the exact number and species of the missing animals.
"Our priority is to locate these animals as quickly as possible and ensure their safety," Dr. Colambo stated. "We have deployed teams to search the park grounds and surrounding areas. We are also coordinating with local authorities and community members to expand our search efforts."
The park is urging residents in the vicinity to report any sightings of unfamiliar animals to the Albay Park and Wildlife or local authorities. The public's assistance is crucial in ensuring the safe return of these animals to their habitat. The park has set up a hotline and social media channels for people to report any information they may have.
