CIDG Operation in Ragay, Camarines Sur, Nets Illegal Firearm
Ragay, Camarines Sur – In an early morning operation today, November 21, 2025, operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Camarines Sur Provincial Field Unit (PFU), along with partner law enforcement units, successfully implemented a search warrant in Sitio Bukal, Barangay GRS, Ragay, Camarines Sur. The operation, part of the CIDG Flagship Project "Oplan Paglalansag Omega," targeted illegal firearms.
The search, conducted between 5:00 AM and 6:30 AM, focused on the residence of Ariston Gamier y Gunay, a 39-year-old farmer residing in the said area. The search warrant, issued by Hon. Cecilia R. Borja-Soler, authorized the search for illegal firearms and ammunition.
The joint operation involved detectives from CIDG Cam Sur PFU, the 95th Special Action Company of the 9th Special Action Battalion, PNP SAF Cam Sur, NCIT, RIU5, CAMSUR MARPSTA, and Ragay MPS. The search of Gamier's residence resulted in the confiscation of the following items:
- One (1) unit Cal. 45 pistol with trademark CUSTOM SHOP STI and with serial no. 175238
- Five (5) rounds of live ammunition for cal. 45 pistol
- Two (2) pcs steel magazine for cal. 45 pistol
- One (1) pc empty shell for cal. 45
- Two (2) rounds of empty shell for 12 gauge shotgun
The markings and inventory of the confiscated items were conducted at the scene, witnessed by Barangay Captain Esteban Hernandez Lacson Jr. and Kagawad Arnulfo Bermido Panton, both residents of Barangay GRS, Ragay, Camarines Sur. Authorities report that Ariston Gamier is allegedly involved in several incidents of illegal discharge of firearms. The CIDG is continuing its investigation and will file appropriate charges against the suspect.
