Construction Worker Electrocuted at Site in Early Morning Incident; Survives After Prompt Response
"Nakakalungkot ng umaga po mga kasurog." These were the opening words of PSO Chief Octavio Rivero who was among the first to respond when a construction worker was electrocuted at a job site in an early morning incident. The unexpected accident sent shockwaves through the work crew, who immediately sprang into action to save their colleague’s life.
The incident occurred as the worker was performing routine tasks at the construction site, though details on the exact cause of the electrocution have yet to be confirmed. According to the PSO Chief. "Tayo po ang unang nag-responde sa nasabing insidente," Rivero shared, emphasizing the urgency of the moment.
Quick thinking from the initial responders made a critical difference. Moments after finding the electrocuted worker, they contacted the Emergency Quick Response Team (EQRT), who arrived promptly at the scene to provide medical assistance. The injured worker was rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment, where they are currently receiving care.
In a facebook post shared by the PSO Chief, he expressed gratitude that the construction worker survived the incident. "Salamat Kapated at buhay ka," Rivero said, adding a prayer for the worker’s speedy recovery: "Panginoong Diyos, pagalingin Mo Siya agad.." Rivero Added.
Authorities have indicated that an investigation into the incident will be conducted to determine the root cause and prevent similar accidents in the future.
