Lagman Joins Multi-Sectoral "Misa at Martsa" Against Corruption in Bicol

Albay 1st District Congresswoman Krisel Lagman took part in the "Misa at Martsa Laban sa Lahat ng Katiwalian" alongside a multi-sectoral group, lending her voice to the growing call for transparency and integrity in public service. The event, which combined a religious service with a peaceful march, brought together representatives from civil society, youth organizations, faith groups, educators, and local communities in a unified stand against all forms of corruption.

Held in a central venue in Albay, the "Misa at Martsa" began with a mass that emphasized the moral duty to uphold justice and hold those in power accountable. Worshipers and marchers gathered early in the morning, carrying placards with messages calling for good governance, honesty, and an end to corrupt practices in both government and private sectors. The atmosphere was solemn yet passionate, reflecting the community's determination to effect positive change.

In her remarks during the event, Lagman reaffirmed her shared stand for accountability and good governance, stating that she stands with the people in their fight against corruption. She emphasized that public officials have a sacred responsibility to serve the public interest and must be held to the highest standards of ethics and transparency. The congresswoman also called on fellow leaders to join the movement and work together to build a more just and equitable society for all Bicolanos.

The multi-sectoral initiative highlighted the power of collective action in addressing systemic issues. Organizers spearheded by the Albay Movement Against Corruption (AMAC) noted that the activity was part of an ongoing campaign to raise awareness about corruption and encourage citizens to actively participate in holding their leaders accountable.

The event concluded at Legazpi Rotonda with a message of support and commitment from all participating sectors to continue advocating for good governance and to support efforts that promote transparency in all aspects of public life.
